The constituent Churches of the Lutheran Mission in Leipzig are the Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Saxony, Thuringia and Mecklenburg. |
The Mission's overseas staff members are currently active in Papua New Guinea and Tanzania, and are sent abroad solely upon the request of our partner churches in those regions. Their work there is to provide expertise in order to allow church employees and others to work more independently in the future. The LMW also provides financial assistance and advisory support to our partners in India, Tanzania, and Papua New Guinea. Students and others are also sent to our partner churches as part of a mission volunteer program. The LMW works at home to raise funds for our partners abroad.
Today, the Mission also works to support foreigners, refugees, and asylum seekers in our town and country. We are active in our constituent churches to create a better understanding for the work of World Mission, which is closely connected with the worldwide movement for justice, peace, and the protection of God's creation.
